How To Set The ICAO On The Traffic Display (Video Transcript)
In this demonstration video, we will be providing instructions on how the user can set their ICAO address on the AV-30 display for traffic. This could be because you are using a Sentry, or a skySensor, or another ADS-B in unit.
The first thing you will want to do is press the left button 1X. And then using the center knob, rotate to the right to “OWNSHIP ICAO.” This is where you will input the ICAO address for the aircraft. Carefully follow the instructions below:
- Press the center button 1X to enter “OWNSHIP ICAO”
- Using the center button, rotate to the right to increase the select the letter/number. Press the center button 1X to make selection and the cursor will automatically move to the right for the next selection.
- After you have entered the ICAO address, press the left button 1X to select DONE
After you have completed those steps, the unit will now be able to filter out the ownship detection on the unit’s traffic display. If you press the center button 1X, you will also see you can enable and disable the VSI. You will be able to display the VSI.
If the AV-30 is connected to a tailBeaconX, if you navigate back over to the ICAO address, you will note that it is already input into the unit. When it is connected to a tailBeaonX, it will automatically import that information to the unit.
