Two Ways To Update The AV-30 - Serial Cable & AV-Link

1. PC Serial Cable
   • Windows PC Running Windows 7 or later
   • USB to RS-232 converter
   • Female DB-9 with solder or crimp terminals
   • 22-24 AWG wire
   • AV Update tool 
   • AV-30-C software

2. AV-Link (Connected to AV-30 or AV-HSI)

• PC or iPad or iPhone (WiFi)
• AV-Link running 0.3.7 or later
• AV-30-C software

*AV-Link connected to just the AV-30 will update only the AV-30 that it is connected to and AV-Link

Connecting to the AV-Link Via Wi-Fi (AV-Link to AV-30):

1. Power AV-Link by attaching the AV-Link to AV-30-C to provided power.
2. Once the AV-Link is powered, connect to the AV-Link WiFi hotspot AV_XXXX
3. Once connected, use your web browser to navigate to 192.168.5.1
4. Updates can be completed following Service Bulletin for the AV-Link & AV-30-C.

*AV-Link connected to AV-HSI will update all AV-30s, AV-HSI, and AV-Link

Confirm that the AV-Link has been configured for the AV-HSI or the update will not work. 

Connecting to the AV-Link via Wi-Fi (AV-Link to AV-HSI):

1. In the AV-30-C installation menu, navigate to AVHSI CFG and press center knob.
2. Navigate to Serial 4
3. If there is an AV-30-C connected to the AV-HSI Serial 4 and Pins 8&15, set Serial 4 to AVL+AV30. Otherwise, set to AV-Link.
4. Connect a PC or Tablet to the AV-Link Wi-Fi connection.
5. Select “Wi-Fi Settings” in the bottom left corner. 
6. In the AV-HSI Settings section, specify if the AV-Link is connect to an AV-HSI with or without an AV-30-C.
7. Click Save & power cycle the AV-30-C, AV-HSI, and AV-Link.
