If your Sentry or Sentry Plus isn't charging, the culprit tends to be the charging brick or the cable being used. Either it is not working or it isn't compatible with your unit. Here's what each device needs.
Sentry
If your Sentry was manufactured after November 2023:
- Charger: Any USB-C charger works, including smart chargers with Power Delivery
- Cable: Any USB-C cable
If your Sentry was manufactured before November 2023:
- Charger: A USB 5V 2A charger
- Cable: Any USB-A to USB-C cable, the one that shipped with your Sentry is the safest bet
A fully depleted Sentry can take up to 12 hours to charge.
Sentry Plus
- Charger: Any USB-C charger. Please note that fast charging is not supported.
- Cable: Any USB-C cable
A fully depleted Sentry Plus can take up to 18 hours to charge.
How to Tell It's Charging
Plug in the Sentry and check the power light. A solid blue power light means the unit is charging. If the light doesn't come on, the charger or cable is the first thing to swap what you are using. Try a different cable and a different power source before assuming the unit is at fault.
Keep in mind that a deeply depleted battery may take a few minutes to respond after you plug it in, so give it a moment before moving on.
