AV-Mag Troubleshooting

Common Issues

• NOMAG Flag after connecting the AV-Mag to the AV-30
  • No power is being sent by the AV-30
    • Check for 7v from the AV-30 on pin 13
    • If pin 13 was paralleled then the Aux power may have been damaged

• The connection is poor from the AV-30 to the AV-Mag
  • Check continuity
  • Give a tug on the wires

• RS-232 connection is poor
  • Check continuity
  • Give a tug on the wires

• MAGCAL Flag does not extinguish after calibration
  • Check the orientation in the install menu

• The AI shows a different heading than the DG
  • Check that the installation and orientation has been completed on both
  • Make sure you are displaying DG HDG and not GPS TRK

• Heading jumps or heading at some headings is wrong
  • Grounding
  • Coiling
  • Interference from a motor
