Casia G Tripod Installation
The following instructions below and instructional video will walk you through the process of installing a Casia G onto a tripod.
The tools required for assembly and installation are:
- 4mm hex driver OR alternatively you can use a 4mm socket set.
- One adjustable wrench.
The installation equipment you will be receiving are:
- One Casia G system itself.
- One Casia G tripod mount.
- Supplied mounting hardware: 5/8”-11 nut, M6 buttonheads (8).
- OPTIONAL ADD-ON: Tripod leveling base with 5/8”-11 thread, in order to fit the mounting bracket.
- Tripod itself with a 5/8”11 thread on the head, typically referred to as a survey tripod.
Finally, the assembly instructions. Please carefully read the instructions below, after you have reviewed you have all the required tools and installation equipment:
-
Carefully place the Casia G system upside down, grab the mounting bracket and align it with the 8 mounting holes and cable cutouts.
- Once aligned, use the 4mm driver to tighten the 8 M6 button heads. At this point, once the bracket is secured, install the device onto the tripod.
The following instructions apply to users who do not have a leveled base. Before we install the Casia G device, we will first need to make sure the tripod is level.
-
Use a leveling tool or an application on your smartphone by placing it on the head of the tripod and ensuring that it is within 3 degrees of level 2 axis as shown:
- Once level, grab the Casia G device and rest it on the tripod head.
- Secure the bracket from the bottom using the tripod screw knob. Please see the Aligning Casia G video for directions on how to properly align the system.
- Use the wrench to secure the 5/8”-11 nut through the top side of the bracket.
-
Once secured, you can again check to see if the tripod is level within 3 degrees:
- Once leveled, connect the supplied Ethernet cable. Twist the connector until you hear a click.
- Now, connect the supplied power cable.
- Route the cables through the corresponding cutouts of the bracket. It is recommended you secure the cables to the legs of the tripod.
-
Installation is now complete.
Next, are the assembly instructions with leveling base included:
- Add the leveling base by threading it to the bracket. Run both cables through the cable gland, which are located on the bottom of the enclosure and no longer rotates.
- Flip over the device to its side, so that you may secure the bracket through the top side with the 5/8”-11 nut.
- Use the wrench to tighten it. Assembly is now complete and the device is ready to be installed.
Next are the steps for installation, with leveling base included:
- Add the leveling head and attach it to the tripod by securing it through the bottom using the tripod screw knob.
- You can then grab the Casia G device and place it on top of the leveling head. Ensure you can still see the bubble level on top of the head. Please see the Aligning Casia G video for directions on how to properly align the system.
- Loosen the bottom screw knob to adjust the alignment of the device. Use the three wheels on the side of the leveling head to adjust the device until the indicator shows the bubble is level.
- Now that the device is level, you can connect the supplied power cable.
- Following, connect the supplied Ethernet cable. Twist the connector until you hear a click.
- Route the cables through the corresponding cutouts of the bracket. It is recommended you secure the cables to the legs of the tripod.
